Stripe holds payment truth for SaaS companies and agencies — but finance close, investor updates, and client reporting still happen in Excel. Exporting balance transactions and rebuilding fee rollups every month is repetitive, error-prone work.
Ilka automates the structure and delivery layer: connect Stripe with a restricted read key, reuse a payout summary prompt, and schedule .xlsx delivery to the same stakeholders every cycle.
What Ilka does (and does not do)
Ilka does:
- Pull recent balance transactions on a schedule
- Apply your improve prompt to produce summary + detail tabs
- Deliver by email, signed webhook, Drive, or recipient portal
Ilka does not:
- Replace Stripe as your payments system
- Build live SaaS analytics dashboards (see Ilka vs Power BI if that is your goal)
The deliverable is a board-ready workbook, not a data warehouse sync.
Recommended template
Start with the Stripe payout summary template. It adds:
- Detail sheet: date, gross, fees, net, payout ID
- Summary by week with fee rate
- Notes tab for reconciliation anomalies
Load it via Use this recipe and adjust column naming to match your finance team's vocabulary.
Connect Stripe on Pro, Team, or Agency
- Open Scheduled reports → add Stripe connection
- Use a restricted secret key with read access to balance transactions
- Set lookback window (up to 365 days depending on plan)
- Attach your improve prompt and pick delivery channel
Full connector details: Stripe integration page.
Schedule patterns that work
| Cadence | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Weekly (Friday) | Ops/finance reconciliation against bank deposits |
| Monthly (1st business day) | Investor or board revenue pack supplement |
| Per client (Agency) | Fractional CFO retainer deliverable via portal |
For webhook-based stacks, read webhook Excel delivery and the webhook integration guide.

Combine with other sources
Many teams centralize in Google Sheets with Coupler or manual exports, then use Ilka for the final Excel pack. That hybrid is documented in Ilka vs Coupler.io.
If cash runway is the deliverable, pair payout detail with the 13-week cash flow template.
Honest limits
- Review net revenue and fee math before external distribution
- Scheduled runs are processed on a ±15 minute cron sweep
- Stripe keys must be rotated on your security policy — update the connection in Ilka when rotated
